Designed to accommodate approximately 300 students grade 9 through 12 serving Greene County Alabama, the school opened fall of 2014. The school is approximately 45,000 square feet of classrooms, science labs, computer areas, cafeteria, storm shelter, media center, administrative and secured entry vestibule. In addition a second phase gymnasium and locker rooms was added. The final phase; Career Technical Building and football field was completed by the end of 2014. In fact part of the selection criteria for this sit was to collocate the career center with the high school.
The design of the school is in the traditional style with brick veneer over concrete masonry units. All interior walls are concrete masonry units for durability. Individual classrooms and labs are equipped with self-contained heating & cooling units and in-room controls. The overall plan layout provides for controlled entry points and circulation. The school is equipped with camera surveillance and intercom systems. Classrooms are organized around the science, labs and computer classrooms with ninth grade academy classroom in a separate wing with its own entry. The cafeteria is an open plan with mixed seating from group tables to counter stools.​​
