After acquiring an abandoned property that divided Lawson State's Birmingham Campus into two sectors, east campus and west campus, CWA was commissioned to design and oversee construction of a new 60,000sf student center that would unify the campus and serve as a focal point for student facilitation and activity.

 

The new building houses an array of programmatic elements ranging from admission and financial aid to student dining and recreation. A multi-purpose auditorium is located on the west campus side of the building with windows that feed onto an exterior plaza. This and many other aspects enhance and encourage student participation and involvement in the facility and overall campus experience.
